The Story

"Jun Iwasaki x Yvon Lambert"
Collaboration en édition limitée

Jun Iwasaki is a Japanese artist.

In 2013, he was struggling to communicate in Australia, where his native language is
different from his own.

One day, he came up with the idea of wearing a T-shirt with "JUN IWASAKI" on the chest
to help people remember his name. He wore that T-shirt when he worked at a cafe and
when he went for dancing. When he met new people, he often put his right finger on his
chest to introduce himself.

Later, he wondered how he would feel if everyone around him, except him, wore a T-shirt
with his name on it, so he decided to make 100 "JUN IWASAKI" T-shirts and throw a
house party for people to wear them. For a while, he were full of curiosity.
When 100 people wearing "JUNIWASAKI" T-shirts appeared in front of him, he again
had a hard time understanding what "JUN IWASAKI" was. So he self-published (and
sold out) a small book about "JUN IWASAKI" with very few copies.

In that book, he explained the following.

“JUN IWASAKI is not just a name, but a line or a drawing, already far away from the
person I am, and at the same time very closely related to the person I am, because it is my name. JUN IWASAKI itself has no meaning.
