The Story
For those unfamiliar with Internet vocabulary, an explanation is in order: Kappa is the name of an emoticon very commonly used on the Twitch streaming platform, mostly for sarcastic or ironic purposes.
Twitch is the place to watch live video games. This is what Adrien Lafille and Anaël Castelein did over four evenings, from January to August 2022, turning these sessions into the material for a literary experiment, appropriating gamers' conversations and chats, and improvising their own off-the-cuff discussions. :Kappa: is the direct, raw retranscription of these conversations, put down on paper in a new language. Exuberant, :Kappa: will baffle many, but will always do so with a smile.
